Pipers bury 13 to sweep St. Olaf

This weekend the Pipers didn't just get their first win of the season but they swept Saint Olaf in the home and home series. The Pipers offense was clicking as they scored 13goals between the two games.

Friday night the Pipers trailed late in the third period at Phalen Arena. Rookie defenseman Matt Seracki tied it up with a powerful wrister from the half-wall just under the five minute mark. With 1:41 remaining in the third, the Ben Klimek received a minor penalty putting the Pipers down a skater. This did not stop the Pipers, as Cody Jahrig blocked a shot to earn a breakaway where he buried the game winner. The short-handed tally ensured the Pipers 5-4 victory.

Saturday Night Jahrig did not slow down. Jahrig had a 5 point night helping the Pipers come back to erase a two goal deficient in the third period to defeat the Ollies by the score of 8-7 in Northfield. The Pipers go into the break on a bright note with these two wins.
